Professional Kinesiology Practice

 

 

1.  Where to start?


The ICPKP Professional Kinesiology Program begins with a 12-unit BKP (Basic Kinesiology Principles) course.

 

The Intensive BKP course begins on the 5th of September 2018.

Maximum participants in a study group - 10.

Upon completing the BKP course and some additional requirements (among them an Anatomy and Physiology course and a First Aid course), the student will receive an ICPKP Certificate in Professional Kinesiology Practice and may choose to practice kinesiology.

The student may also continue to study further and obtain a Diploma in Kinesiology.


 

2.   Further professional study


Upon finishing the first year of study, the student may choose to continue with 1-2 more years of study (16 more units & Anatomy & Physiology part 2) and obtain a Diploma in Kinesiology.

Introduction to Kinesiology - BKP101

This introductory course is suitable for those who wish to learn some basic kinesiology techniques to apply for self and family,
or to first "try the waters" before enrolling for the full professional program

for Professional Kinesiology Certification


 

1.     ICPKP - International Certificate in Professional Kinesiology Practice

ICPKP includes:

  • BKP 12-unit course - ICPKP Part 1 & 2 - class attendance
  • ICPKP Part 3 - home-study and off campus preparation.
- Anatomy & Physiology 1  - the ICPKP* home study course, or other course recognized by ICPKP*);
- First Aid Level 1 course approved by
ICPKP* (off campus);
- Mentored practice & experience: supervised student clinic experience - 50 hours;
- Clinical Practice client sessions, mentored - 75 hours
(off campus);
- Personal Kinesiology Sessions by
ICPKP* diploma graduate - minimum 5

Certification: International Certificate of Professional Kinesiology Practice issued by ICPKP*

Qualification: Certificated Kinesiologist


2.     IDPKP - International Diploma in Professional Kinesiology Practice

IDPKP includes:

  • ICPKP (parts 1, 2 & 3) - International Certificate in Professional Kinesiology Practice - see above
  • IDPKP Part 1 & 2 - advanced 16 PKP diploma units taken within 1-2 years 
  • IDPKP Part 3 - home-study and off campus preparation.
- Anatomy & Physiology 2 - the ICPKP* home study course, or other course recognized by ICPKP*;
- Mentored practice & experience: supervised student clinic experience - 50 hours;
- Clinical Practice client sessions, mentored - 75 hours (off campus);
- Personal Kinesiology Sessions by ICPKP* diploma graduate - minimum 5

Qualification: Specialised Kinesiologist

Short Kinesiology Courses *


1.        Kinesiolgy for Self-Care - BKP 101

You will learn:

- various kinesiology techniques for powerful energy meridian self-balance.

- simple emotional stress release and brain integration techniques.  - how to set positive goals and how to balance yourself for manifesting them.

Certification: International Certificate in Kinesiology for Self-Care issued by ICPKP * . Additional certificate fee - R490 (when this unit is not taken as a part of the full BKP program)


2.        Kinesiolgy for Wellness - BKP 101-105

This workshop includes BKP 101 and introduces students to the fundamentals of PKP kinesiology. Topics include the techniques of manual muscle testing, 5-Element theory and practice, Colour and Sound balance and the history and philosophy of kinesiology. This course consists of the first five units of the BKP course.


Course fee

R2000 per unit for 5 units each

or R9500 when paid in advance on enrolment

and before the course begins

Certification: International Certificate in Kinesiology for Wellness issued by ICPKP.*

* Certificate fee - R490 per certificate is applicable for all short courses when the units are not taken as a part of the full 12 unit BKP program.

The certificates for the professional courses (ICPKP and IDPKP) are free of charge.

Students enrolled for the short BKP workshops may choose to apply to continue with more advanced kinesiology courses at any chosen time.


About your teacher

Lazarina van Oostveen (Laika) has over 20 years of experience in the field of holistic therapies. She has an International Diploma in ICPKP Kinesiology and she is a faculty member of ICPKP (International College of Professional Kinesiology Practice).

Laika is a registered member of both ASKSA (Association of Specialised Kinesiology of South Africa) and PKPASA (Professional Kinesiology Practice Association of South Africa).
