The level 1 training consists of 3 parts:

  • Part 1 & 2  include class attendance of 12 BKP (basic kinesiology principles) units: theory, class and home practice, assessments, exams.
  • Part 3  (additional requirements) includes Anatomy and Physiology home-study unit, mentored sessions and off campus preparation


There are 2 options for Level 1 course in 2020

Option 1. Morning course

At one morning per week from Feb till May & Sep till Nov 2020. 3 mornings per each unit for 12 units

Option 2. Weekend course

Three parts in Feb, May and Nov 2020 at two consecutive long weekends per month.
This course is suitable for those who live far - in another city or in another country.

PKP Tuesday morning foundation Level 1 course







General Information

·      The PKP Level 1 course provides a solid foundation in the principles of the Professional Kinesiology Practice and is the first step towards the International Diploma in Kinesiology.

It consists of 3 parts:

·      Part 1 & 2 covers the full BKP series (BKP101-110) plus units on clinical body contact (RBT 201) and advanced emotional stress release (EMS 201): theory, class & home practice, assessments, online tests & a final oral exam.  

·      Part 3 (additional requirements) includes: Anatomy & Physiology (A&P 201) home-study unit, First Aid (OCT 202 - taken externally), case studies, mentored & supervision sessions. 

·      If the student chooses the Morning course, the classes will run from Feb till Nov 2020 at one morning per week (see the Class Program).

·        Attending ALL classes, regular assessments, online tests, mentored and supervision sessions are all essential parts for the successful student's preparation.

 

Certification

Further study & qualifications

·        Upon completion of all 3 parts of the Level 1 training, the student will receive an International Certificate in Professional Kinesiology Practice, issued by ICPKP (International College of Professional Kinesiology Practice, NZ). The graduate will be encouraged to register as a member of PKP association of SA and may start practicing as a Kinesiology Practitioner Level 1 under the supervision of their teacher, while studying further to obtain their professional qualification and/or a PKP diploma in kinesiology.

·      Upon completion of 6 or more diploma units of the Level 2 PKP diploma course, the graduate will be listed as a Kinesiology Practitioner Level 2.

·      Upon completion of the 16 diploma units and the additional requirements of the PKP diploma course, the graduate will receive an International Diploma in Kinesiology and will be listed as a Kinesiology Practitioner Level 3.

 

The maximum number of students for this program is 12. First come, first serve.

A payment confirmation of a deposit or the full fee must accompany the signed enrollment forms in order for registration to take place.  

 

Payment options for part 1 & 2

1/ Regular discounted payment plan with 3 instalments.

·         R9000 is payable before the first class begins

·         R9000 is payable in before the beginning of unit 5 (BKP105)

·         R9000 is payable in before the beginning of unit 7 (BKP107)

The total discounted fee is R27 000.

2/ Discounted full payment plan: when paid on enrolment and before the beginning of the course.

The total discounted fee is R25 500.

3/ Pay-per-unit payment plan:  a fee of R2500 per unit is payable before the first day of the unit. R2500 x 12 = R30 000.

The total non-discounted fee is R30 000.

Additional Information

·         The student is required to attend all classes and practice sessions; study and practice at home, complete an assessment journal and pass an online exam for each unit.

·         At the end of the academic year, after ICPKP part 1 & Part 2 are completed, two case studies and a final oral exam are some of the requirements before an International Certificate in Basic Kinesiology Principles is issued.

·        An International Certificate in Professional Kinesiology Practice will be issued after ICPKP Part 3 (all additional requirements) is completed. This usually takes a few more months of home study, preparation and practice.

·        Upon receiving their ICPKP certification, the graduate is advised to contact the local kinesiology association(s) or other health industry bodies and enquire the latest requirements for membership and guidelines for their professional practice.

 

About your teacher

Lazarina van Oostveen has over 25 years of experience in the field of holistic therapies. She has an International Diploma in Kinesiology (ICPKP) and she is a faculty member of ICPKP (International College of Professional Kinesiology Practice).

Lazarina is the principal of JKCHH (Johannesburg Kinesiology College of Holistic Healing) and she is a registered member of ASKSA (Association of Specialised Kinesiology of South Africa) and PKPASA (Professional Kinesiology Practice Association of South Africa).
